Job Summary
 
The Training Manager is responsible for overseeing O&M training of the Afghan National Security Forces.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Manage O&M training objectives for the ANSF to ensure trainees have the ability to operate facilities safely and reliably.
  • Oversee the maintenance of training records
  • Oversee training in preventative, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance
  • Responsible for the development and administration of classroom and on-the-job training to include development of any training aides
  • Responsible for the development of Programs of Instruction (POI)
  • Develop, obtain and report metrics on training programs and other initiatives.
  • Responsible for supervision of direct reports including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Ability to diagnose training needs and provide the appropriate training methods and programs.
  • Well-developed oral, written, presentation and group facilitation skills.
  • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills with an ability to lead, coach, and manage others.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by assignment or contract and will be listed separately.

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Project Management 
  • Minimum of five years project management experience with a minimum of two years of relevant project management experience in DOD contingency operations, logistics and life support services, public works and construction management, or equivalent. Equivalent experience includes, but is not limited to, similar experience obtained as a member of the United States Armed Forces
  • Working knowledge of applicable Federal and Afghanistan laws and DoD directives and instructions
