Job Description

Job Summary
 
The Subsistence Total Ordering and Receipt Electronic System (STORES) Technician ensures the necessary resources are available to fulfill the feeding mission of the dining facility.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Assist in managing AFMIS (Army Food Management Information System) food account maintenance for DFAC account in accordance with contract requirements
  • Verify and troubleshoot discrepancies noted during weekly/monthly inventory checks
  • Assist resolving purchase order discrepancies with prime vendor (PV) to ensure accurate fiscal reporting to client
  • Assist auditing delivery invoices and records discrepancies on customer survey form for submittal to PV
  • Continuously improve systems and procedures within the STORES area
  • Escort auditing agencies i.e. DCMA/DCAA/Army Vets/Preventative Medicine/ DI QA/QC during audits/inspection of stores area in the absence of the warehouse foreman/DFAC manager
  • Ensures correct key control of all subsistence storage which is limited to authorized personnel only
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
  • Basic understanding of  FIFOFE (First In First Out, First to Expire), TMD (Temperature Measuring Device) records, warehouse safety, ground guiding  
  • Working knowledge of DFAC operations, order management, and ration usage requirements
  • Working knowledge of AFMIS and STORES
  • Working knowledge of DLA SPV 100 and SPV 101, TB Med 530, and Army Regulation 30-22
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret military regulations 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Additional knowledge/skill requirements may be required by assignment or contract

Experience & Education
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience with at least one (1) year assisting with AFMIS and STORES
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe (40 hour) certification

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Overseas location where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions
