Job Summary
 
The Project Delivery Manager will develop and lead deployment of resources and project delivery systems to successfully execute and deliver project work (i.e., meet client’s cost, scope, schedule, service expectations, and company’s profitability and positioning goals) within the area of responsibility.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Efficiently integrate the region and business groups’ project delivery strategy
  • Provide leadership in delivery of projects to achieve scope and schedule
  • Provide leadership in application of Project Delivery System (PDS), project delivery initiatives, and delivery processes and tools to achieve the following project delivery strategic objectives:
    • Health, safety, and environmental (HSE) responsibility
    • Company’s expectations for quality, schedule, and budget
    • Project team expectations
    • Operational performance
    • Quality Assurance (QA)

  • Determine regional project delivery needs and assist staffing for strategic projects
  • Ensure appropriate capabilities are deployed on projects
  • Initiate and maintain working relationships with HSE and QA staff
  • Ensure Construction Managers (CMs) have resources needed for successful project execution and monitoring by providing resources where needed
  • Leverage Project Delivery Team expertise through focused coaching and development of CMs
  • Lead consistent and regular oversight of projects to ensure PDS are followed with specific emphasis on appropriate planning, chartering, endorsement, change management, project controls, statusing, and closeout
  • Ensure efficient and effective two-way communication system within region
  • Develop and implement regional procedures that will lead to increased project performance and result in meeting company goals
  • Ensure alignment on strategies, tactics, objectives, and priorities between Company and Client
  • Manage delivery of projects through complete lifecycle from initiation through implementation
  • Ensure project is delivered on time, meets business & technical requirements, and is within agreed budget
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Responsible for project administration and production of project documentation such as project plans
  • Monitor and manage project process and track progress against milestones, deadlines, and budget
  • Report status of key items to stakeholders
  • Participate as an active member of company’s management team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Good team player, self motivated, and able to work on own initiative
  • Computer literate, able to quickly and efficiently use a wide range of common Office software including Word, Excel, Project and Power Point
  • Clear decision-making ability to judge complex situations and assess when to escalate issues
  • Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritization and a pragmatic approach

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline; two (2) years experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years college
  • Minimum ten (10) years applicable technical and project management experience
  • Demonstrated successful performance managing medium- to large-sized projects

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
