Job Summary
 
The Project Controls (PC) Specialist - Mid provides intermediate project controls knowledge, cost, and schedule management principles in analyzing project management data.
 
Principal Accountabilities
  • Under minimal supervision, perform all project control activities and ensure project administration, change management, project estimating, cost management, and schedule management tasks are executed in a timely fashion and in accordance with all company standards and contractual requirements 
  • Assist in development of scope, schedule, budget, and estimate to complete data for assigned tasks
  • Create Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and develop schedules and budget data (including resource loading) for those WBS elements
  • Collect, interpret, and input schedule and cost data into project control database and provide output to project team
  • Assist management with risk assessment that may affect project profit, costs, schedules, and client relations to include moderately complex elements of: estimate to complete data gathering, schedule update comparisons, variance cause investigations, CDRL data gathering, and report compilation
  • Interface with project team to define scope of work, need for change to budgets and schedules, and identification of variances from original plan
  • Assist in preparing status reports and other related project planning and control documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, clients, and others in contact with the job
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Competent in cost management, schedule management, or baseline change management
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills

Experience & Education
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in finance, business, or related field
  • Experience with EVM, cost reporting, and scheduling software
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in associated discipline
  • Prefer certification from an accredited, related organization such as AACE, PMI, etc.
  • Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
