Job Summary
 
The Operations Director Sr oversees and directs operations and contract execution to ensure satisfactory completion of task order objectives, including but not limited to: start-up, control and shutdown of equipment for efficient, economical and environmental standards.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Direct the maintenance, repair and operation of all assigned systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Advise leadership for effective decision-making regarding operations performance, issues and optimal approaches to accomplish company and customer objectives.
  • Responsible for work control, planning, infrastructure, facilities support and plant operations of a regional/major base or facility.
  • Direct operations budgeting and expense control to ensure maximum efficiency of resources for contract performance within budget allowance.
  • Develop and implement task order operations plans, policies and procedures to ensure sustainment and maintenance of all operations systems and to support surge or demobilization activities.
  • Develop course of action for immediate resolution of issues and provide direct support as needed for operations and field sites.
  • Plan, estimate, schedule, expedite and otherwise control the use of the staff, maintenance, machines and materials in the operation.
  • Review and approve expenditures for tools, equipment, supplies, materials and additional contract requirements.
  • Analyze production reports and prepares performance status reports for review at all required levels.
  • Provide supervision and training to supervisory personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards and government regulations.
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the functions and operations of major military/civilian commands.
  • Complete understanding of operations of assigned contract.
  • Ability to lead large complex organizations.
  • Attention to details and able to handle multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of various computer applications (ex:  Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering or associated discipline.
  • Fifteen (15) or more years’ progressively operational management experience.
  • Seven (7) or more years’ in a leadership role over large organizations.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • CONUS:
    • Generally works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions.

  • OCONUS:
    • Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions.
