Job Description

Job Summary
 
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for managing logistical maintenance operations of all material handling, vertical handling, construction, light/heavy, military, and civilian vehicle assets in assigned area of responsibility.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Manage multiple maintenance activities in support of assets consisting of, but not limited to, line haul, vertical handling, material handling, construction, light/heavy, military and civilian vehicle applications
  • Plan, direct and monitor the execution of daily maintenance operations in accordance with the applicable performance work statement (PWS), company policies, OSHA, DOT, American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and military regulations
  • Lead all phases of planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting related to maintenance and equipment operations as well as controlling account expenditures to obtain maximum utilization of account resources
  • Ensure all internal logistics requirements necessary to support maintenance operations  and coordinate with military logistics units and commanders to validate priorities and ensure customer expectations are exceeded
  • Manage the administration, maintenance, and distribution of approved publications, warranty documentation, Lost Theft Damaged Destroyed (LTDD), and Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) documentation
  • Administer short and long-term financial and operational plans in support of overall company objectives, and monitor and maintain performance, product, and service quality
  • As available, develop or train personnel on all aspects of maintenance logistics
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
  • Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tactical and non-tactical vehicle maintenance, maintenance organizational structure, and operations
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient at equipment parts acquisition, warranty, LTDD, and ECOD submissions
  • Advanced knowledge of DOT, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, military regulations standards, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements
  • Exceptional at team development, diagnostics, minor and major repair, and technical research
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, management, or associated discipline; may substitute two (2) years’ experience in related field for each year of college
  • Ten (10) years of experience including eight (8) years in military maintenance or similar work and experience in transportation, supply, and/or warehousing
  • Prefer experience managing US military maintenance management operations
  • Proven technical experience in interpretation and use of logistics automated systems
  • Experience as representative between contractor, military services and commercial agencies,
  • Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
