Job Summary
 
The Field Safety Professional Senior supports implementation of the field and office Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program and occupational safety and health regulations in regional operations.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Conduct reviews of potential risks on projects (HSE, contracting, and insurance) and identify potential mitigation measures
  • Provide regulatory and policy review, interpretation, and technical advice
  • Assist in communicating HSE program requirements to functional group leaders
  • Conduct audits and reviews of policies and procedures and recommend corrective actions
  • Conduct investigation of incidents and complaints concerning HSE risks
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable government requirements, company policies, and procedures
  • Recommend improvements to HSE tools, processes, policies, and training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
  • Must fluently read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions on the spot without consultation
  • Ability to type at least 35 words per minute
  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment

Experience & Education
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in construction safety, industrial hygiene, or related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certificate of Training in OSHA 30-Hour Construction, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, or equivalent
  • Prefer associate’s degree in a safety related discipline
  • Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Travel
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
