Job Summary
 
The Equipment Operator Foreman is responsible for installation R&G operations in support of assigned program. The Equipment Operator Foreman will have responsibility for a team of  Equipment operators Motor Grader, Front End Loader, Back Hoe, Excavator, Vibratory Roller, Water Truck, Ditch Witch Trencher, or Bob Cat Skid Steer/Track Steer.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Supervises the coordination of moving equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life; equipment may include, but is not limited to, Motor Grader, Front End Loader, Back Hoe, Excavator, Vibratory Roller, Water Truck, Ditch Witch Trencher, or Bob Cat Skid Steer/Track Steer
  • Allocates equipment and personnel based upon project priorities
  • Manages a fleet of Motor Grader, Front End Loader, Back Hoe, Excavator, Vibratory Roller, Water Truck, Ditch Witch Trencher, or Bob Cat Skid Steer/Track Steer. Schedules necessary maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
  • Ensures safety policies are effectively executed.
  • Follows related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating procedures
  • As available, develop or train personnel on all aspects of Equipment operators missions operations.
  • Ensure equipment is properly utilized, maintained, and stored
  • Completes necessary documentation, reporting, and other office duties
  • Performs special projects as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
  • Skill and knowledge of staging yard operations, equipment maintenance, and safety equipment is required
  • Skill and knowledge in preparing asset utilization reports and safety reports.
  • Knowledge and experience working with the Army and other military services, commercial agencies, and host nation elements.
  • Possesses the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Has the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, department directors, DCAA auditors, and USG customers.

Experience & Education
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience operating earth moving equipment
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Prefer Equipment Operator training from a Technical institute or military training program

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds, bend, stoop, and work safely around equipment, materials, supplies, and other items to be handled
  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
