Job Description

Job Summary
The Aircraft Marshaller guides the movement of an aircraft prior to departure or upon arrival by utilizing a motorized vehicle, electronic communications, standard hand signals, and related actions.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Ensure aircraft taxiway and runway areas are clear of other vehicles and pedestrian traffic
  • Direct pilots where to park aircraft on the apron
  • Receive flight information from air traffic controllers and disseminate the same to airport users like airline operators, information personnel, and management collecting statistics on incoming and outgoing flights
  • Complete regular Foreign Object Debris (FOD) inspections in conjunction with all duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of radio and telephone procedures for communicating with Air Operations and Air Traffic Control Tower
  • Working knowledge of standard FAA/ICAO and military visual signaling (both fixed wing and rotary)
  • Working knowledge of standard flight line processes and procedures
  • Decisive, alert, level-headed, good communicator
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Must master English assessment
  • Current driver's license

Experience & Education
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as an aircraft marshaller
  • Prefer former military airfield experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Formal education/training (either civilian or military) in airfield marshalling

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Work in close proximity to operating aircraft
  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
