Job Description

Job Summary
The Construction Manager is responsible for managing large scale, multi-million dollar construction projects.
Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage and give daily direction to field supervision on the project to achieve on-time, within budget, results
  • Provide leadership, guidance, cost and schedule-effective solutions to manage construction requirements and situations
  • Work directly with project lead on future material needs to maintain productive work flow
  • Authorize and/or approve project personnel transactions, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and coordinate project changes orders and modifications with the Project Delivery Manager, Project Engineer, and client
  • Manage project performance, goals, and timelines by tracking and monitoring metrics compared to objectives, identifying and resolving issues, providing reports to leadership, and sharing good news stories
  • Ensure work is completed per design and in accordance with contract requirements, company policies and procedures, and government regulations
  • Coordinate with inspection groups and internal/external auditors to facilitate and manage audits, quality control, and issue resolution
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and leadership skills
  • Thorough knowledge of practices, standards, and regulations regarding design and construction of camps, forward operating bases, and other large civil projects
  • Ability to use project and construction management planning and reporting tools such as Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, MS Project, and Primavera

Job Requirements

  • Minimum eight (8) years of engineering and/or construction experience with at least six (6) years in a supervisory/management role 
  • Prefer experience in US government projects located overseas
  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or associated discipline from an accredited institution; may substitute two (2) additional years of experience in related field for each year of college
  • Prefer professionally certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and/or Project Manager
  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
